The John Deere S160 is the premium 48-in. model of the 100 Series lineup, built for homeowners with 1-2 acres who want the wider cut and additional power of the larger ELS engine. Like all 100 Series tractors, it ships with the John Deere Easy Change™ 30-Second Oil Change System for no-mess annual maintenance.

Power comes from a 24 HP (17.9 kW) V-Twin Extended Life Series (ELS) gas engine with cast-iron cylinder liners, overhead valves, full-pressure lubrication with oil filter, and electronic ignition. The Kanzaki® Tuff Torq® TLT200 hydrostatic transmission with side-by-side foot pedals delivers infinite speed control.

The 48-in. Edge™ mower deck is a three-spindle design built from 12-gauge steel with a dual-stage E-coat and powder paint finish for corrosion resistance. 3-in-1 blades enable tool-free transitions between discharging, mulching, and bagging.
